Friday 5th November

Good afternoon everyone!

It has been a strange week this week as we have missed so many of you! We are very much looking forwards to finally all getting back together later this next week.

We began the week with Halloween poetry; I was so impressed with the children, they are developing into very talented poets! We then worked on developing exciting descriptive writing using noun phrases with lots of interesting adjectives. I challenged the children to writing about the haunting setting shown; not the most relaxing setting!

In maths, the children have been working really hard at solving column additions and subtractions with 4 digit numbers. We have then worked on applying this learning to solving tricky problems. We'll be doing more of those next week as they're quite challenging!

The children began handball in P.E. this week and absolutely loved it; they're a seriously competitive group!! The children enjoyed ending their lesson by playing a mini tournament; I was very impressed with their skills!

The children thoroughly enjoyed their first visit back to swimming this morning too; Miss Hewitt and I were particularly impressed with the way they all supported each other too! Well done class 4!

As you may have seen in the newsletter, we will be running a range of fun activities for the children during the week of the 15th November for Children in Need. If you are in a position to donate, we are asking this to be done online via this link. Please don't bring any money into school. Thank you!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone and see you Monday!
