Good morning Class 4!

Thank you for sending lots of pictures yesterday, you really are amazing, creative and talented. I love to see what you have been doing whether that's some of the suggested activities that have been set or simply having fun in your own unique way. Keep the emails coming, they really do brighten up my day.

Yesterday we decided to create our own secret code. We wrote down each letter of the alphabet with a different symbol next to them. Next we wrote out  messages using the symbols instead of the letters. It was good fun trying to work out what the messages said. Sophie has asked if we can write one for our elderly neighbour who is feeling a little lonely. We deliver her food shopping so I might slip one into the bag next time to see if it will cheer her up!

Here are your suggested activities for the day:

English:

I really enjoyed reading the start of your biographies, I would like you to carry on using all of the information you have found out. If you have organised your research under headings then you have already decided what information each paragraph will contain.

Use this checklist as you are writing:

  • I have used a range of different openers.
  • I have made an appropriate choice of noun or pronoun.
  • I have used apostrophes correctly.
  • I have used commas after fronted adverbials.
  • I have used commas to mark clauses.
  • I have used conjunctions such as: even though, despite, although.
  • I have demonstrated neat, joined handwriting.
  • I have written in paragraphs.

You can always do a little more research if you feel that you don't have enough interesting information for your biography but don't copy what is written on the internet - make it your own!

Maths:

I hope that you are still using TT Rockstars. If you haven't logged on for a while, please have a go and keep those times tables fresh in your mind.

Can you solve the following 1 and 2 step problems? Don't forget to jot down your working out.

Art:

Here's a challenge for you! Can you draw the other half of an animal's face?

Here are some examples that you could use or you could print off your own animal picture (maybe you have an picture of a pet you could use). If you don't have a printer perhaps you could use a picture from a magazine.

Have a safe and happy day.

Love from the year 4 team xx
