Good morning Class 4!

I hope you have all been enjoying this beautiful sunshine and have had a lovely Easter. I am missing you all terribly and wish that I could be standing in front of you today. For now we will continue with the blog instead.

I would love to hear about some of the things that you have been getting up to - send an email if you can.

This half term our topic is called 'Wild' and we will be setting you lots of tasks that come under this heading.

English:

Today I would like you to research the wonderful Sir David Attenborough. I would like you to jot down lots of facts about him and try and organise them under these different headings:

  • Early life (interesting facts about his childhood)
  • Early career (facts and stories about his first jobs and successes)
  • Things he is known best for
  • Family life
  • Extra interesting facts

Later in the week we will be writing a biography about him so the more information you can find, the better. Remember, when researching please do not just copy out large paragraphs from the internet; read the information and find the important bits!

Maths:

Roman numerals today! Have a go at the following...

Science:

Follow the link above and watch the video about how to group living things.

Make a list of the first 10 animals that pop into your head (you could draw them or write down their names). Now, can you group these animals? First group them just by their physical appearance (number of legs, wings, fur, shell etc) then group them using some of the words from the video (reptiles, mammals, vertebrate, invertebrate, amphibian etc).
Could you present your groups in an imaginative way? I'd love to see your finished work!

Have a wonderful day.

Love from the year 4 team x
