Talk about why we need to measure quantities in volume.  Filling containers with water, sand, tins, bottles, boxes...

Warm up – need a set of number to 20

Days of the week, months of the year.

Recap on shape names 2D and 3D

Flash numbers 1-20. Order numbers each child gets 2/3 cards.

Counting to 20 forwards and backwards in 2’s ’10..

Need water trays and different containers for children to play with.

Use the language

Empty/half full/Full.

TOPIC – Drumming bands

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZHfmgIb4mc

Look at rhythms and children make up their own to perform.

To help with rhythms you can use mini beast to create different beats.

Bee- minim

Butterfly- quavers crotchet

Grass hopper- crotchet and quaver

Spider- 2 x crotchet

Caterpillar- 4 x  quavers

Start to put together a rhythm performance to show. They can use the book to help or make up their own rhythm.

Use the children names to clap out the rhythms. Again put them in the sound chart of syllables.

Perform your drumming rhythms.

What a creative day.

Good work!
