Home Learning Tuesday 23rd June

Good Morning!

Transition Tuesdays!

A quick hello from year one!

Mr. H. here! I hope you are all well!
I just thought I would hop on to Mrs. Oddy's blog to say a big hello to you all and tell you how much I am looking forward to seeing you all in year one after the summer break.

You guys won't know this but during lockdown, I was lucky enough to get a puppy! Now I love dogs, so getting a new pup is very exciting for me! I thought I would share a couple of photos on here for you to see! I have two dogs, Luna, the triclour Rough Collie is three years old and Brego, the blue merle Smooth Collie, who is now sixteen weeks old. In the first photo below he was only eight weeks old!

Look how much he has grown in 8 weeks!

Back to you Mrs. Oddy!

Writing:

Oh no the zoo has sent you the wrong pet. Can you explain why the animal is not right for you?

Draw the animal and make a flap to go over the top, like a cage. e.g They sent me a snake. It was too wriggly/long/scary. So I sent it back.

NUMBER – There are lots of words to describe where something is?

Divide animals into 3 groups.

Reptiles/amphibians  – e.g snakes, lizards, tortoise.

Birds- e.g hens, flamingos, vultures, owls

Mammals with/ without fur. e.g  Monkeys, whales, goats, chipmunks,

Talk about their features which make them different to the others. Birds have feather and most of them can fly.

Reptiles have scales and are cold blooded so need to warm up using the sun. They hatch from eggs. E.g snakes.

Mammals feed their own babies with milk and they look like themselves, some have fur.

Thank–you

Mrs Oddy
