TOPIC

Dear Zoo - look at front cover – talk about the animal in the crates and the kind of animals you find in a zoo. Read the blurb and talk about the kind of animal they would like for a pet.

Read Dear Zoo again, encouraging the children to join in where they can. Can they remember they sequence of the characters?

Children each make a character from the story to add to large the story map using a tube as the body.

They then can make a person, to go round the zoo too from a peg like last week.

Talk about the different types of animals in the book.

Each bubble in school will take on a different classification of animals.

Classification of animals.
