Good Morning!- This week the book is Rosie's walk by Pat Hutchins and we are having a more detailed look at Bees.

Hold a sentence:

NUMBER – Counting in 2’s. We can say every other number name when we count.

Warm up – need a set of number to 20
Days of the week, months of the year.
Counting to 20 forwards and backwards.
Show a number can the children say one more or one less than the number?
Can you whisper 1.3.5.7.9 and shout 2.4.6.8.10
How many children in the bubble? Odd or even?
Have a 1-30 square visible so the children can see the pattern.

Paint the numbers using the interactive number grid:

Say the number out loud.
Look at a pack on numicon if available find these numbers. What do they notice? These are even numbers(no sticking out bits)
The other ones with sticky out bits are the odd numbers. 1 3 5 7 9
Sort the numicon into odd and even.
Colour in a 100 square odd/even numbers on the interactive board. What is the pattern?
Can the children decode which as odd or even numbers?

Discuss journeys ‘Where do you walk to?’, ‘Where do you go in a car?’ ‘How else can you travel?’, ‘Who do you travel with?’
Look at the story sequence and make a Rosie character.
In school we are using a dolly peg but a wooden spoon is good.
Make a story map using the 4 main parts.

Windmill
Cart and Bee's.....
Talk through the story using the preposition language of: across, over, around, under and through.
Continue to care for your plants.
