Friday 1st May

Oh I am so excited as it's chocolate day.

This is a product grown in Kenya. Can you look at the powerpoint (if available) and see how chocolate is made. You can then design your own chocolate bar or cook something with chocolate in.  But first!

GoNoodle/Joe Wicks/ Yoga (cosmic Yoga) or just walk round the garden.

Topic

Look at the powerpoint of how we collect cocoa beans from Africa and process them, to eventually make chocolate.

Then have a go at a chocolate recipe.

We (my children and myself) made rice crispy buns and chocolate chip scones!

There are so many discreet learning opportunities in cooking. Have fun!

Talk about weighing ingredients, melting of chocolate, where the ingredients have come from.

Have a good weekend and thank-you for all your continued support - I really mean that.

******************************************************************************

Next week we will be looking at the story Oliver's Vegetables and VE day, Victory in Europe. It is 75 years since the end of World War 2.

The week after the story will be Oliver's fruit.

The last week will be How to Grow a Sunflower and Van Gogh.

Then maybe the Bear Hunt!

If you have these books it will be good to dig them out or you may want to add them to your collection.

Vegetables mentioned in the story for next week  are carrots, peas, cabbage, spinach, beetroot, potatoes, rhubarb.

If some of these are available next week that would be great.
