Week ending Friday 18th June

Posted: Jun 17, 2021 by: Martin Clayton (MClayton) on: Class 6

Unfortunately, there are no photos this week, as we have all been adhering to the digital detox: paper registers, no SMART board - it has been a challenge at times, but we all got through it TOGETHER!

The English this week has been to keep a diary on our battles through the detox, with details on board games played with the family, football at the Oval (seems like that should be cricket), drawing, reading, etc. Well done everyone and thanks for your support.

Year 6 maths came to a close with co-ordinates, reflection, translation, pie charts and line graphs, before the end of year assessments. We rounded off the week with a year 7 mental maths test!

Science has seen us complete the strand of evolution and adaptation with and extreme animal challenge and designing our own life forms appropriate for different environments.

RSE has moved on from puberty (and catch-ups from the year 5 lockdown), to sex and reproduction. Lots of mature discussion and questions in class - very impressive.

In PE, we have been playing rounders in baking heat and competing in orienteering challenges. Long may the weather stay like this!

Have a lovely weekend everyone,

Mr C, Mrs J, Miss H and team.
