MathsCoordinator Mr M Clayton
We aim to teach lessons that are stimulating and interesting, whilst being aware that many mental skills need hard work and regular practice. All classes in school start their maths lessons with 'Ten Questions' and KS2 carry out weekly 'Speed Tables'.
Our marking policy is clearly displayed in each classroom and the children respond to the teacher’s feedback, self-assessing against their personal targets in order to progress and reach their own potential.
We use IXL software https://uk.ixl.com throughout school; for homework and as an in school activity. We also offer Schofield and Sims homework books as additional support where necessary.
Our Calculation Policy illustrates how we teach maths through school.
In the 'Resources' section below there are links to websites that can be used at home with your children, with fun interactive challenges and games and also a range of age appropriate activities you can engage in with your child. (N.B School does not take any responsibility for the content of these sites).
Should you have any queries on any of the above, or wish to get involved in our maths experience in school, please do not hesitate to contact myself: email@example.com
